AW² takes you behind the scenes in our Materials Library department through a three-part tour of the studio and the internal resources available for our multidisciplinary design team. Three distinct zones mark out the creative process: the Fabrics Library, Materials Literature Library and the Materials Library.
This month: focus on the Materials Library
The Materials Library is at the heart of the design process, containing all the material samples, classified by material family. This internal resource is used by our team from the very first stages of the design process to develop a bespoke world of textures, colours, and patterns. Here, each material finds its place and is thoughtfully integrated into our projects.
The dedicated team maintains and enriches this library through meetings with suppliers and research favouring innovation during visits to specialised trade shows (Cersaie, Architect@work, Materials&Light, Maison et Objets, Salone del Mobile à Milan, etc.) and through responding to the specific requests of our architects and interior designers. It is also here where all the AW² material boards are made.
