In this protected site, the conservation laws oriented us towards a subtle renovation of the existing building. We reworked the mineral base with an arcade providing shade and an elongated terrace area opening on to the garden. Above, the house unfolds onto a large wooden deck with an integrated infinity pool suspended between the sea and sky. We modified the existing façade, creating large openings allowing the sea views to permeate the interiors. Our concept focused on this aspect: the seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor living spaces. The choice of brute materials (stone, wood) reinforces the relationship between inside and outside, shadow and light, built environment and nature, air and water.

Inside, the open plan layout creates a fluidity of transitions between the living spaces, dining area and kitchen. Bespoke walnut furniture complements the signature Reda Amalou Design pieces and the selection of contemporary furniture. On the lower level, the garden leads off from the gym and spa area. Populated with indigenous vegetation, the landscaped garden is peppered with natural rock formations and maquis shrubs. Villa Pavellone has been designed as a peaceful haven where the views are given pride of place. A modern family home, the space is both flexible and functional, offering a range of opportunities to interact with or to find respite in this idyllic setting nestled in the Corsican countryside.
