Ilot Wurtz in Juvisy-sur-Orge just outside of Paris forms part of a largescale urban redevelopment project. The proximity to the RER (express metro line) station makes the site a prime location for residents looking for convenient access to transport connections to Paris and across the region. The main façade positioned on the intersection is a slender form sculpted in glass with balconies and vegetation seamlessly integrated. The verticality of the design and the curvature of the façade mark the building’s identity and position it like a lighthouse, creating a visual marker in the downtown area, close to the transport hub. The glass volume is built on top of a structural base with a patterned, visually textured façade that breaks with the smooth façade of the residences above and marks the entrance to the residential block on street level. The residences are all equipped with loggias and the penthouse suites on the upper levels are also equipped with terraces, incorporating outdoor living spaces in this high-rise building.
